FWIW I just installed two systems using the idepci/reiserfs flavors
built out of current cvs, perhaps UML is causing the bad behavior?

oops, reversed the logic on the test for relinking /lib/modules to
/target/lib/modules when the latter exists after we mount an existing
partition as root (phew!)

Here is a patch which, while not preventing the Malformed release file
error, at least cleans up the file so the next time the user runs, he
gets another chance.
Please check this syntax, I don't know if it's right! (Maybe it needs
