packaged kernel won't boot

I've got an inspiron 2650 that won't boot with the default woody/sarge kernels, although an old install of di did boot when I tried it (like 3 or 4 months ago). Currently using the xfs kernel from knoppix which works fine (provided I give it noscsi on install), and morphix boots cleanly as well.

hi, I am installing debian on a embedded machine with a 96 mb disk on module. The network install is working but there isn't enough space for installation to complete. the /target gets filled up. Since this is for a firewall device we can trim down the size of base install. I am looking for
