Today, a 10GB partition for root is really small. Take in count that / will hold
/var/lib and /var/log along with /usr. For a standard desktop install it takes
almost 6GB of space, leaving 4GB for other software and software's own data

I just committed a fix that drops menu from task-desktop and menu-xdg
from task-kde-desktop.
