BTW, could you tell me how it cames that originally you tried a pc98
disklabel ? Did you choose it by yourself in parted, or did some d-i
tool try to add it ? Or maybe your disk had already a pc98 partition on
it ?

Accessing them manually (i.e. mkswap on the first partition and mke2fs

creating the filesystem, the partitions are not listed in configure
