.
Would that mean a newer kernel will fix that? Or should we maintain a
list of know hardware to use --directisa option?
I was about to report it as a bug against util-linux. Is it a known
issue? Should I go ahead and report it?
Cheers

improvement that could be made includes further splitting the
desktop tasks into desktop, desktop-gnome, desktop-kde and desktop-xfce
tasks.
I would love to see installer giving a choice of gnome/kde/xfce at
least in DVDs.

folder does not have scim-tables-additional package (which
contains all the indic stuff).
Can these two packages be added to the DVD?
But then it should get it from the mirror, right?

Of course, you did choose the desktop task, right?
Of course I did, I got the gdm screen with empty boxes after reboot.
Can you look in /var/log/installer on the installed system?
That is where I saw the mirror being setup.

Hi,
I am not able to set clock on compaq 6510b and compaq presario c700
model laptops.
$ sudo hwclock
select() to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out
The same error shows while booting up.
Fedora core 8 with 2.6.23 kernel was able to setup this correctly on 6510b.

That's not quite true. AFAIK Ubuntu only distributes _DVDs_ and I'm fairly
sure that if you take a Debian DVD you will find most of what
,
single full CDs, and netinsts, while we're awash in 20 CD sets. This is
broken..
and you fixed it by removing the option to use more than one CD itself, great!

Praveen, don't bring the discussion on that field. You actually have
no idea how Joey is respectful for *all* our users.
You may misunderstand him but I'd like this discussion to remain civil
and polite.
I just echoed the feelings in this part
sound too much complaining and accusative - this loss of
functionality was really disappointing.
