Is there any particular reason why netcfg maps 127.0.0.1 to the hostname in /etc/hosts? I.e.: 127.0.0.1 myhost localhost This makes reverse lookups quite confusing, as you expect 127.0.0.1 to be mapped to localhost, not to the hostname. I know that GNOME and possibly other programs need to
