Subject: Rescue.bin hangs during boot at "md ..."
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Package: Rescue.bin

Hardware:

Gigabyte 7DX, AMD Tbird 1.2GHz (266MHz FSB) 512MB Memory
IDE (Maxtor 20GB) on IDE1 -- mode is set to "auto" in the BIOS, but I've
tried
   "large" and "lha" without effect.
DVD (EPO) on IDE2

Boot proceeds normally until the "md" portion of the boot, where it
simply hangs
after printing the line that begins "md ".

Hang requires hardware reset -- three-finger salute won't get it out.

Further info:

Slackware boot works fine
SuSE 7.0 works fine

Neither require any boot parameters.

Charles.

The bug you filed was against the Potato boot-floppies, and has been
fixed in the woody boot-floppies.

We're sorry we cannot fix the problem you reported for the Potato
boot-floppies, but work on that version has stopped long ago, and the
Woody release should be in the not too distant future.
