I've downloaded and tested netinst sarge Pre RC2 and the problem is
still present in the installer.
By default the installer gets to the Choose language screen but the
keyboard is locked and the laptop needs to be hard booted.
If the linux26 option is selected the problem goes away. I have

After BIOS update the May version of installer CD worked (as I
reported on 31 May 2004).
I don't know whether newer versions of installer would have worked
with the older version of the BIOS. I suppose the BIOS was at fault,
and do not want to downgrade the BIOS.

i have been using SARGE Beta 3 to install debian and it worked fine for
me. As my system is up and running now, I don't want to risk any
