I've just nearly successfully installed in vmware using 2.4.24 d-i. The only catch is that the CD image I had it use after booting from floppy does not have the 2.4.24 kernel deb on it and is lacking a few kernel module udebs too. But I see no problems at all that cannot be explained by that. All
