New arm64 porterbox, old one will be decommissioned soon
Dear all, The arm64 porterbox called asachi.d.o is kindly hosted by Linaro. We have just been notified that this hosting will come to and end soon. We have therefore created a new arm64 porterbox at Conova called amdahl.d.o. asachi.d.o will be decommissioned soon. Please use this new porterbox instead of the old one. If you have any important work in progress on asachi.d.o, it's time to fetch your data. Remember that the porterboxes are NOT backuped, so we won't be able to get your data once it has been decommissioned. Bug#874597: debian-installer: switch to debhelper 10
Hi Christian! Christian PERRIER(2017-09-08): > I'd be happy to do that when rebuilding for translation (I have a > bunch of pending builds to do, because of recent updates for two > languages). I really meant that for src:debian-installer. All components below the packages/ directory already use debhelper 9 AFAICT, which is good enough. > I can probably start doing so as soon as my next race is over and I'm > back to work (it is suppsoed to start in.6h30...and end on next > Sunday). I tried changing http://ftp.debian.org/ to http://httpredir.debian.org/debian/ and it worked fine for me. I also asked Raphael Geissert if this would be an appropriate use and he said, "Yes, all mirrors are expected to have the installer dirs for a given arch whenever they claim they mirror that architecture. If you ever encounter any such mirror it should be considered a bug and a reason enough to take them off the pool until they fix it." Bug#871835: speed up for debootstrap
I forget something. During the run of debootstrap, I observed via repeated ps -efl calls that often perl is running for a longer time. Then I tried to use strace to see which exec(ve) calls takes a long time. But I didn't managed to find out, instead I saw read calls taking long. So I decided to look at the perl code and what it was reading. Using strace I could also see which perl calls where executed several times. -- regards Thomas
