Hello, as I noted from earlier messages, there's a lack of testers for i386 tftpboot. Fortunately I'm in a situation that I'm able to test tftp-booting on Intel ISP1100 hardware (they use Intel network chips with netboot support) and on off-the-shelf PCs using 3c905C cards. At least until the end of June, then I'll only have 3com based PCs available.
I think this is one of the most crucial features for cluster and classroom-sized installations, because once the machines are configured correctly, it removes the necessity to be on-site for installation! The ISP1100s even have an option to switch the console to the serial port, so in case you have a remotely accessible terminal server, you can _really_ do everything remotely. Please do include tftp support in any future installation systems for i386! And please do tell me if I can be of any help. Alex -- "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."
