Issues: * X (important) The BIG problem is X. The installed lightdm starts the X-server which fails to drive the display in a proper way. Instead it slowly turns completely white, like oversaturation. I saw this phenomenon on some PC style hardware many years ago but forgot how to deal with that. X used to work in the past, at least in lenny, while it was broken from jessie the latest. Since I don't need X on this machine and also usually run my own kernel, I used to blame the latter und never investigated. The Xorg.0.log file is attached. * network card (requires more checking) There was a glitch with network card detection. Identification and configuration worked well but afterwards the ethernet link was flapping when starting network install. This misbehaviour disappeared again without an understanding why. * module loader Some unidentified process inserted "apm_emu" into /etc/modules which cannot be loaded as it's not available. Subsequently, systemd-modules-load.service ends up in the "failed" state.
