Package: dpkg
Version: 1.10.10
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

when a package has a huge number of conffiles that change during an upgrade
(e.g. the /etc/X11 subtree), it's annoying to have to press "y" for each
file to overwrite (or "n", for that matter). (I don't know why dpkg picks
them up as modified, as I certainly didn't touch them, but I could have, so
the report is still valid.)

It would be nice to have an option to overwrite all modified conffiles for
this package, or this subtree, or this session (and, likewise, to never
overwrite conffiles for this package, subtree or session).

Andrew
