Package: libgdbm-dev
Version: 1.14.1-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Trying to install third party programs ( https://github.com/ocaml/dbm )
that need the header file ndbm.h to compile.

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

It seems that libgdbm-dev should provide this file (or a similar one, gdbm-ndbm.h I guess), as stated in the package files listing at https://packages.debian.org/buster/amd64/libgdbm-dev/filelist

It appears many files are missing when comparing the package content to this list.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

No further outcome.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Closes: 340479 891376
Changes:
 gdbm (1.14.1-5) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * Update Vcs-* fields in debian/control.
   * Bump compat version to 11 (no changes needed)
   * Enable dietlibc build, unless pkg.gdbm.nodietlibc profile is in effect.
   * Change section of bin:gdbm-l10n to 'localization'
   * Fix spelling error on manpage
   * Enable large file support (Closes: #340479)
   * Reduce repetition in debian/control with ${S:fieldname}.
     See deb-substvars(5)
   * Note about legacy applications and bin:libgdbm-compat in
     description of libgdbm-dev. (Closes: #891376)
   * New autopkgtest: libgdbm successfully links and works with dietlibc.
   * Temporary disable mmap IO when linking with dietlibc (otherwise
weird undefined reference errors to __divmoddi4 appear)
   * Disable building with dietlibc on Ubuntu
