Package: apt-file
Version: 2.5.2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
Whenever I run apt-file update I get this particular statement local
file too old everytime I run it.

Downloading Index
http://debian.ec.as6453.net/debian/dists/experimental/contrib/Contents-amd64.diff/Index:

local file too old

But this happens ONLY with experimental/contrib and none of the other
ones. This is my /etc/apt/sources.list

$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list

#### testing #########
deb http://debian.ec.as6453.net/debian/ testing main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free

 #### unstable #########
deb http://debian.ec.as6453.net/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free

 #### experimental #########
deb http://debian.ec.as6453.net/debian/ experimental main contrib non-free

Now from what I understand and understood it finds the local file too
old and downloads a new version (does it ? ) but then complains about
the same thing the next time around.

This is the list as in /var/cache/apt/apt-file :-

The experimental/contrib is at the very top then why it does tell that
everytime?

How come the experimental/contrib is too old each time but others are not ?

Looking forward to answers.

I am marking this as closed in 3.0 as in that version apt-file
outsources the PDiff handling to APT. If you still experience the issue
with apt-file/3.0 (or later), then please reopen the bug and reassign it
to APT.

Thanks,
~Niels
