I also see this using kernel 3.1.0-1-amd64 with an old winxp vm. Using qemu-kvm 0.15.1+dfsg-1 I see two issues: (1) The VM fail to receive the responses to its dhcp requests (2) The mouse on its' SDL/VNC display does not move. Reverting back to qemu-kvm 0.14.1+dfsg-4 fixes both these issues.
