I just confirmed this issue on arm64 (building raptor for the first time).
Removing the autoreconf.mk line from debian/rules lets it build. So
the shipped ./configure is OK, but the one generated by the autoreconf
isn't.

Okay, I ran bash under gdb and got a backtrace which perhaps points to
readline. While it's hard to lay blame with a malloc error, this fits
with my experience as bash would often crash immediately after exiting
