After a dist-upgrade of unstable, the X server crashes during startup.
Although I use a custom kernel (2.6.24 and 2.6.22.10), the error

I have a hang as well. It happens not on the first save, but after having
changed the text file. I save to a remote filesystem with type CIFS, options
set: rw,user,noauto,username=. The filesystem is mounted.
