Looks like $OUTPUT = $OUTPUTDIR + / + $OUTPUTFORMAT, at least in my
case. Is this intentional?

I ran into this weird situation with abcde:
When I set OUTPUTDIR to /home/laiti/flac, a directory '/home/laiti/flac/flac'
is created and files go there.
When I set OUTPUTDIR to /home/laiti/music, the files go to
