Thanks, it's fixed in svn and will be part of the next upload to experimental.
I've also added xmllinting as autopkgtest so we don't let that kind of error
slip into desktop-base again.

I’ve also added a white version of the logo as I feel it would suit
better into the GDM theme.
It will be in the next upload of desktop-base, probably the day after
tomorrow so very close limit for Stretch’s freeze.

The program you must be refering to must be « assogiate » which was a
GTK2 file
association editor. It’s been deprecated and not packaged anymore starting
