The problem here is a bug in the debian/watch file caused by GitHub
changes in its HTML output of the releases page. The following diff

This should do what you need. If this works, the host should boot
correctly as well.
Oh, I also had to manually "systemctl stop dhcpcd". This service was not
stopped by the purge of package dhcpcd.

Dear Maintainer,

This morning, version 9.4.1-16 was installed by my daily
unattended-upgrade run. As after all recent updates, the service
was stopped, but not restarted after the
.service: Killing
process 16135 (dhcpcd) with signal SIGKILL.

My workaround was to install udhcpc from busybox, but this package
doesn't provide IPv6 connectivity.

Hi,
while you're at it, the package git-core itself is now a transitional

Since the former kernel-image-* series is now called linux-image-* in

Hi
including disable_dns_lookups = yes in main.cf has cured the problem,
so you can merge this bug with #317143, but the question still
remains why a libc6 update has caused this bug in the first place.

Some more information:
- I have tried to turn off all chroot flags in master.cf: no change in behaviour
- I have turned off my whole TLS setup in main.cf: no change
What I find interesting is the fact that the bounce mail from to the sender
can be sent without lookup error:
Aug 15 16:21:52
to resolve the name,
so I don't think the problem is with the new resolver libraries.
