The bug can be worked around quite well by adding
DisplayManager*authName:MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1
to /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config, so that no XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 keys are

only omitts those when no --noskipold is given.
