I encountered the same issue : I am unable to install Debian 11 Bullseye on
a Fujitsu Lifebook U7511 laptop with the debian-11.1.0-amd64-netinst.iso.
When I try to boot, I have the exactly same error :
set_second_stage() failed: Invalid Parameter
Something has gone seriously wrong:
install openjdk-8-jdk
# Then install OpenJDK 11 from stretch-backports
aptitude -t stretch-backports install openjdk-11-jdk
After that, you may need to use update-java-alternatives to define the
default JDK you want to use.
