Hi, just wondering if and when this bug is going to get fixed, because
it has been marked pending for quite a while now.

I discovered this while preparing sssd for Debian. The install rule for

Package: ddrescue
I'm filing this bug to call for the removal of ddrescue from debian. This is
for the following reasons:
1. ddrescue contains dd_rescue, whereas gddrescue contains dd_rescue and
dd_rhelp, so gddrescue has superseeded ddrescue
2. ddrescue has not been updated for over two years
I think that the reporter is using the latest version that appears in Ubuntu
9.04. I don't know how that version number appears in ubuntu but not debian
because I'm not an expert at the debian-ubuntu relationship, but the ubuntu
changelog can be found here:
Package: vnc4
Version: 4.1.1+xorg1.0.2-0
I am using vnc4server and presume vncconfig came from that. dpkg
refuses to tell me which package contains vncconfig.
$ dpkg -S vncconfig
dpkg: *vncconfig* not found.
Running vncconfig results in an X error:
$ vncconfig -nowin
X Error of failed request:

It seems that the last activity on this bug, and on the relevant
package was over a year ago now. Is this package still currently
maintained, and if so, is a new version with the corrected spelling
mistake going to the fixed in the next upload?

I have made a new patch here:

patch renders the other one obsolete, because it fixed more instances of the
same grammatical error
I've downloaded the latest git version, using git clone
git://git.debian.org/git/dpkg/dpkg.git and have changed all the .po
files and the files in /src to the correct grammar. How do I upload
the changes to git now?
