   mount the drive (mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt && ls /mnt
   (also other actions, mkdir, mv, and cp fail with an I/O error)
   * What was the outcome of this action?
    this results in a a I/O error
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
