I have similar problems exacerbated by tree level of "forcemanaged=1" of
apt cacher servers behind a blucoat proxy.
Somes are VM, somes are physical. All machines / OS are ok.
My conf use VfileUseRangeOps:-1 and ResuseConnections:0
Trashing all the caches on all the servers even does not

Ok, I implemented minimum required support to get it working with
email address as username.
It is enough to log in and navigate in the mailbox.
It surely have some limitations (I did not check email sending) but
now perfectly suit my needs (simple and self contained webmail
to consult and delete
