I have reported this bug in Ubuntu:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/622319
I don't have a Debian system to test on right now, but I'm confident it
affects Debian as well.
How to reproduce:
Initialise the smart card:

Upgrading to 0.14.6c.1 breaks ksynaptics. It makes it
impossible to configure the touchpad with it as ksynaptics
complains about the "SHMConfig "on"" line not being in
xorg.conf while it is. Downgrading to 0.14.6b-1 solves
the problem.
Actually, the file is in the kdebase-data package but for some reason
doesn't get installed properly. A simple workaround is to extract the
file from the package and manually copy it in
/etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/
