Package: rtorrent Version: 0.8.7-4 Severity: important
Command parsing appears to be broken in version 0.8.7-4 of the Debian rtorrent package (latest unstable). By commands I refer to both commands passed at the Linux shell/terminal and commands passed to a running instance of rtorrent by invoking Ctrl-X. I suspect that this is a parsing problem, since the commands appear to work under certain conditions. For example, when the session directory has been set in ~/.rtorrent.rc via the option session = rtorrent_session_dir rtorrent refuses to honor the following commands to override the session directory: $ rtorrent -o session=rtorrent_session_dir_2 $ rtorrent -s rtorrent_session_dir_2 However, if the session option is disabled or commented out in ~/.rtorrent.rc, e.g. # session = rtorrent_session_dir rtorrent honors the session directory setting. This is also true of other commands where the equivalent option in ~/.rtorrent.rc has been set, such as, "upload_rate = 10" or "min_peers = 5". There are also commands which no longer work whether they are set in ~/rtorrent.rc, invoked in the console shell, or invoked by Ctrl-X in a running instance of rtorrent. But I believe this should be the subject of a separate bug report. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (90, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.37-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_SG.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_SG.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages rtorrent depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcurl3 7.21.3-1 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libgcc1 1:4.5.2-4 GCC support library ii libncursesw5 5.7+20100313-5 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libsigc++-2.0-0c2a 2.2.4.2-1 type-safe Signal Framework for C++ ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-5 SSL shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.5.2-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtorrent13 0.12.7-2 a C++ BitTorrent library by Raksha ii libxmlrpc-core-c3 1.16.33-2 A lightweight RPC library based on rtorrent recommends no packages.
