It appears to be setting the value of GNUNET_HOME based on the conf
file settings.
I couldn't see exactly what was up with this line, but I commented it
out and then it configured successfully. (My setting was default anyhow)
It would confuse someone not familiar with editing shell scripts.

I have a Dell laptop (latitude E6420) and i get a similar bug as
#657302: no more sound with kernel 3.2. No problem with 3.1.
There is no errors except there is no sound.

yes i notice the trouble is *only* with dock lineout and kernel 3.2.
No problem with integrated loudspeaker or laptop lineout.
I also test kernel 3.3rc2 and is fine with dock lineout, integrated
loudspeaker and laptop lineout

So it looks like problems with gnome or other wm's. This isn't a bug
in alsamixer. Could you please test some other ncurses applications
like lynx-cur speedometer?
I install lynx-cur and lynx runs fine...
