After a quick examination of the konsole git repository upstream searching for
the relevant code and any mentions of Qt 4.8, it turns out this issue is
already known [1] and it only happens when bidirectional text rendering is
disabled

Since a recent series of updates in testing (that just happened to include Qt
4.8.1), Konsole doesn't draw characters with descenders (g, q, y, p, for
example) correctly when using the Terminus bitmap font at various sizes (bold
