Ugh, sorry about the noise. Just found there's a hybrid configuration on my
buster machine, using the docker-supplied docker-compose for a specific
code subdirectory.
Please close this bug report.

I've been using the docker package repo from docker
(https://download.docker.com/linux/debian) for the standard docker binaries.
This has been running fine together with docker-compose

This might be the same problem I encountered on a clean install of buster. In
my case it turns out gdebi-gtk is dependant on package dbus-x11, but it's not
listed as a dependency.
Could you try to install package dbus-x11 and see if
