we are also experiencing this issue with the stable packages:
bind9 9.18.28-1~deb12u1
samba 4.17.12+dfsg-0+deb12u1
downgrading to 9.18.24-1 fixes the issue.

When upgrading from dhcp3-server 3.1.1-6+lenny4 to isc-dhcp-server

The check_ping plugin fails when a host doesn't support ipv6 but a ipv6
address is returned by gethostbyname.
