Bug#252116: My problem too

I installed Debian last December for the first time. Aptitude usually crashes after the install or uninstall. Also, when it doesn't crash, all the packages disappear until you restart gnome-apt. I am running AMD K-6, and have the same problem with 2.4 - 386 and 2.6 - 386 kernel. -- To
