Hi, I have this problem too and I don't know if this can help.
First time I started lxde all worked properly and inmediatly with ObConf (graphic interface) but, after my first restart ObConf started to show me the message: "An error occured while trying to save config file '/openbox/lxde-rc.xml'".
If I set up /home/user/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml file, changes aren't applied; but changes are applied if I set up /etc/X11/openbox/rc.xml file.
