Just FYI: I cherry-picked two valgrind patches from the trunk,
mentioned in the upstream bug:
$ svn diff -c r11856 svn://svn.valgrind.org/valgrind/trunk
$ svn diff -c r11904 svn://svn.valgrind.org/valgrind/trunk
applied them to the 3.6.1 package and got working valgrind!

It's probably fixed at the moment, testing dvd1 snapshotted on
2011-07-18 fails because of bzcat absence and snapshot dated
2011-07-25 installs base system without this error.
Though, testing/dvd1/2011-07-25 fails to install bootloader - reported
as bug #635400 :)
