Hi,
as short addition one has to mention that by installing the ghostscript-cups
package, the necessary cups filter gets installed.
/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster seems to be required for printing
application/postscript, also for printing with my HP LaserJet 5P.

Christian Marillat tells me he can reproduce this on a G3 Mac, but not
on i386 or AMD64.

Hi,
I can confirm this. After the upgrade from kde 4.1.1 to kde 4.1.2, I only saw a
gray and white checked background. Now I upgraded to qt-4.4.3 from unstable and
everything seems to work again.

Hi,
I just observed the very same problem and found this bugreport.
After manually upgrading all cups-related libraries (not all of them had
been upgraded with the 1.3.8-1 upgrade of cups itself) the problem was gone.

Hi,
playing around with the acpi-support scripts, I found something unusual
in /usr/share/acpi-support/power-funcs. The function getXconsole should
return the DISPLAY variable of the local X11 screen. In my case it
returns 0\n0.
