Hello,
I can confirm it appears to fix things here too, with 17.3 I could
trigger the crash just by making emacs scroll a larger-than-screen
buffer or make scid resize its internal windows, now it doesn't crash
anymore.

Hello!
Since the switch to xfce4 4.3.90 I no longer have xftaskbar4.
Is this intended, or did you forget to compile it ?
apt-file search xftaskbar lists the man page, and some screenshots
of xftaskbar options, but no binary.
Is the patch applied to the modular Xorg packages ?
I'm a bit wary about the update because I don't know if I'll be able to
switch back to a usable Xorg system after the modular switch, if the bug
isn't fixed.
Thanks for your time, regards,

Does that help?
It did, I found the error, and with some help from Ralf, I fixed it.
Thanks.

Hmm, that means that tetex-extra has not been configured correctly.
That's probably my fault, on my laptop, there was no such problem.
updmap-sys --syncwithtrees and it was ok. Thanks a lot for your help !
