As Thorsten pointed out, multiple layers of symlinks is used in several places

Shouldn't src/killall.c readproc() run readlink(2) until it gets the canonical

Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
Upgraded an existing system from buster to bullseye. Thunderbird is
completely unusable, any attempt to use it stops the whole machine
from doing anything.
*
impression that manpages-i10n had changed to systemd
versions (which doesn't have bootlogd.8) but apparently not. I think we should
continue to use the manpages-i10n version and not have any more dpkg diversions
than are absolutely necessary.
I am away for a week, but will resolve this once I am back.

it available is tricky.
It's been many years since I worked with BDB, so any suggestions as to
how to debug further would be helpful.
Thanks,
