Bug#925955: simple-cdd: Fails to import correct package version from security mirror

2021-06-29 Thread Michael Norton
I am experiencing the same kind of issue with 0.6.7 on buster building a buster image. Thanks to this report I was able to determine why libgnutls-openssl27 was breaking for me. Then I also discovered that this problem also silently affects some packages without actually causing any breakage

Bug#944022: Firehol /etc/default

2019-11-27 Thread Michael Norton
I think any fix for this bug that relies on preserving the old behaviour of /etc/default/firehol is the wrong approach. I had a look through Debian Policy Manual Section 9.3: System run levels and init.d scripts; here’s some snippets: "This extra file [/etc/default] should be sourced by the

Bug#944022: Make Firehol Read The File

2019-11-18 Thread Michael Norton
Oh, so apparently there is a patch… somewhere? But is there actually any reason to keep the /etc/default/firehol file and the START_FIREHOL logic? I don’t understand the point of having it. What would be wrong with “systemctl [enable/disable] firehol”? That would be more proper, no? AFAIK

Bug#944022: suggested patch

Bug#944022:

2019-11-17 Thread Michael Norton
I came here to report the same problem and found there was already this bug, so consider this a confirmation. I am certain that /etc/default/firehol did work as documented at some point in the past. Probably a better title for this bug might have been “/etc/defaults/firehol is ignored” since
