This seems to be fixed in later versions of libxml++. Debian seems to
have only an old version of libxml++.

I am unlikely to make a new tarball release, however. This is the
version of gnomemm for GTK+ 1.2, and I doubt anybody is still using it.

know when there is no more software in the world that uses it. It's not
kind to break third-party legacy software, and it only contributes to
the myth that Linux/Free-Software doesn't have stable development
platforms.

Nonsense. You are probably just calling Glib::RefPtr
Gtk::ListStore::clear() instead of Gtk::ListStore::clear().
Try refListStore-clear() instead of refListStore.clear().
