I have rebooted the machine (proper shutdown).
At boot I got the root prompt, as it couldn't mount the devices. vgdisplay
and lvdisplay showed me all my volumes, but under /dev the vg directory
was missing, and /dev/mapper was also empty, but the control file.

Hi, I have tried to upgrade this machine today.
So there was an aptitude update, and the upgrade.
lvm2 was upgraded from previous version, meanwhile lvm-common was
removed, as the new lvm2 package conflicts with it:

Severity: normal
k3b in etch ejected the medium, and then asked me to reload it.
Now that I have upgraded it to testing, it no longer asks me reload
manually, but it simply reports an error.
This way I cannot verify what was written.
