#704750 in 2013 requested Yama – a kernel feature that restricts PTRACE_ATTACH
to parent processes and root (by default, it can be configured).
#712740 a few months later
This affects me, too.
And it's really weird that it doesn't work, because the live installer
(calamares) manages this setup just fine. It's the recommended setup
there, actually.

I'm using apt-listchanges with the GTK frontend on a German locale
(de_DE.UTF-8)
and I noticed that the confirmation dialog for whether to continue the
installation
after reading the changelogs is empty.
g at the patch on salsa I think that this bug doesn't just exist in
Buster, but that's the version I used to test it.
