After updating to unstable post lenny-freeze, DVD playback via Xine no longer

I can confirm this same behavior with 2.6.26-9. And it's not just headphones,
in my case it is the digital audio out into my sound system and is confirmed in
all audio applications. My information is pretty much the same as the origional
poster except the PCI device in question:

Package: libmtp6
Version: 0.2.1-1
These two packages share /etc/udev/rules.d/libmtp.rules, which I
believe means they should conflict with one another, right? Or, in
the alternative, the file should be removed to a libmtp-common
package, or some such.
I'm not fluent with deiban policies...

The fine developers of libmtp released 1.4 a few days ago which has much

Notice that the binary package is now called libmtp5.
It's great to see someone who knows what they are doing pick this up and run
with it. However, I wonder if naming the binary package after the so name is
the right course

if it means this package can get into unstable sooner. Is there something I
can do?
I noticed the list of comments from James Westby... I can follow up on some
of those if there is need.

With libmtp working its way through mentors[1], it would be great to see the
mtp device support enabled in the debian build of amarok.

must be agreed to (in the GPL's case, it is agreed to by conduct). Others on
this list take a different view, but fail to explain how they avoid the

So calling the GPL a License Agreement strikes me as the correct and honest
