A similar situation exists in other popular packages. Look how it is
proposed to package Firefox ESR (life cycle of 9 months) for

There is something more. We had to install Nautilus and GNOME Panel in this
case (gnome-session depends on it). Just for using GNOME Screensaver! :-)
I do not know what functionality of gnome-session is requierd for locking on
time proper work.
