Bug#912748: Can the patch be backported?

The problem seems to affect Ubuntu 19.04, see for example https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/psmisc/+bug/1827467 As suggested, I ask whether the solution could be backported to psmisc 23.2-1 ? Sven
