Dear Maintainer,
I wanted to tag already found faces. That worked for some time. Then
after tagging another face digikam began to consum all the RAM.
This situation is now reproduceable by
1. starting digikam
2. t

I had the same issue today.
I could reboot by killing PID 1 (which was the one from systemd).
After that I could make a shutdown.
My system is debian stable 8.2 with all updates running on a Asus
laptop.

I can't reproduce this bug in
$ apt-cache policy konsole
konsole:
Installiert:4:3.3.2-1sarge3
So I guess you can close the bug-report.

That's o.k. here. So this is infact a local issue, even if I
don't know how it happend. But that's my own problem, not yours!
