The issue is caused by the outdated version of the byte-buddy. Upgrading it
to 1.14 should solve the issue.
The issue can be worked around by adding -Dnet.bytebuddy.experimental=true
to the argLine in maven-surefire-plugin.

Applying Ubuntu diff[3] also fixes the issue.
