Package: pppoeconf
Version: 1.19
Severity: important

when pppoeconf prompts for a password, hitting 'esc' causes
the passwords in /etc/ppp/[chap|pap]-secrets to be blanked out.

pppoeconf warns the user that /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-secrets should
be backed up before continuing, but gives no warning about
backing up the *-secrets files before they are overwritten.

the 'esc' key is supposed to allow a user to escape from an action,
not commit the user to a change.
