It's https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8262085 - fixed in openjdk 17.
Can you please backport it to openjdk-11 in order to solve this bug?
JOSM is heavily impacted by it, we receive a lot of bug reports.
Thanks,
Vincent
If enabled by default, please offer a reliable way for applications to
disable it. We don't need it for JOSM, and we have been so impacted with
jaw's problems in the past years that we will never want it enabled by
default for us.

Hello,
It's a Java bug. It seems Netbeans faced it too:
https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=271914
It's linked to multi-monitor setups. They advise to start the application
on another monitor (you have to clean your JOSM profile before doing that).

Hello Vincent,
JOSM should display an error stacktrace in the bug report dialog. We need
it to investigate this issue, could you please copy/paste it here?
Cheers,
Vincent

Can you please update icedtea-web to version 1.7.1?
Version 1.7 has been released in July 2017 and contains important bugfixes
and support for JDK9.

Dear Maintainers,
I have another update: the segfaults in gpgsm are back almost the same way as
before.
After I moved the old ./gnupg subdir out of the way, created a new one, and
imported my keys it worked for a day or two.
Now I see the same segfaults. In the meantime a lot of X.509 public k

JOSM 7643 has been released as new tested version:
https://lists.openstreetmap.org/piperm
I made the 1.04 release especially for this bug :/
There are very few other changes: one bug fix, optimized PNGs and code now
requiring Java 7, but that should not be a problem:

Hi,
If that helps, I have adapted this change in r7616:
https://josm.openstreetmap.de/changeset/7616/josm

Be careful, openstreetmap-map-icons-classic package must be updated almost
each time josm package is updated. Current version (svn28731) is several
revisions behind the required version, see
https://trac.openstreetmap.org/log/subversion/applications/share/map-icons/classic.small
for details.
