Package: libimage-exiftool-perl Version: 12.57+dfsg-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Debian bullseye contained version 12.16 of exiftool, which was labeled by upstream as a production release. Debian bookworm was released with version 12.57 of exiftool, which is labeled by upstream as a development release. List of production and development releases can be seen here https://exiftool.org/history.html Quoting from that page, it says "Note: The most recent production release is Version 12.60. (Other versions are considered development releases, and are not uploaded to MetaCPAN.)" Please think about upgrading the version of exiftool in debian bookworm to 12.60 (production release) during a debian point release, so that we're not stuck with a development release for the lifetime of debian bookworm. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-10-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU thread; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages libimage-exiftool-perl depends on: ii perl 5.36.0-7 Versions of packages libimage-exiftool-perl recommends: ii libarchive-zip-perl 1.68-1 ii libunicode-linebreak-perl 0.0.20190101-1+b5 Versions of packages libimage-exiftool-perl suggests: pn libposix-strptime-perl <none> -- no debconf information
